Finding Clarity After Loss

Client S. lost her husband of over 50 years after a short illness and was then diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Her closet got out of control and client S. did not have the physical strength or mental fortitude to tackle the project.

Our goal was to work together to remove everything from her closet, discard/donate unwanted clothing and then only return those items that served client S.

The result was a closet where everything was easily seen and accessed. In addition to the organizing the closet, dresser drawers were organized and baskets utilized to contain sweaters, t-shirts and turtlenecks. Creating a space for everything removed the pressure from having to continually sift through piles of clothes to get dressed in the morning.

From Chaos to Sanctuary

Clients M and A, a young 30-something couple living in San Francisco working in the tech industry. Their stressful careers left them with little energy or desire to use their limited free time to develop systems that might make life easier:

The original plan was to organize M&A's closet but we ended up systematically going through the entire 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment creating space by keeping only those items that they wanted to carry forward in their lives. Using existing items M and A already owned, we were able to refresh the space in order to better reflect their passion for international travel and adventure.

Their apartment became a sanctuary.

Maintain Without Stress

Client L. Lived in a small cottage on the Oregon Coast with very limited storage. Her guest room served as an overflow room and as a storage area for her many tubs of yarn. Client L. suffers from MS and often doesn't have the physical strength to manage her space.

Our goal was to create space by thoughtfully donating unwanted books and discarding items that were no longer serving Client L. We were able to get rid of one entire bookcase, organize her extensive yarn collection and still provide a comfortable guest room. We were able to organize her space in a way she could maintain with minimal effort. Three years later, Client L. reports that she has been able to keep the space organized because now everything "has a home."

Tools Within Reach

Workrooms, basements, garages and attics are often overlooked spaces that just seem to accumulate items over the years.  When Client C was left by her husband of over 30 years she was faced with a chaotic and unorganized workshop in the basement.  It was overwhelming for her to even try to address the space.

We were able to work together to systematically go through everything and reorganize it in a way that made sense.  She now has a space that not only looks great, but makes doing home improvements and do-it-yourself projects so much easier as tools are easily accessible and within reach.

The space no longer overwhelms her but makes her happy every time she sees what she has been able to accomplish.
